Rabbi explained what comes with marriage-responsibility, children and light in being together The World has lost a great man a rabbi who was a historian philosopher and communicator and a leader of the Jewish Community. To his family. May I wish long life His memory will be a blessing His books ,lectures,podcasts have inspired the World. and added sunshine on Jews,Israel and Judaism. This entire series is disgustingly homophobic. As Catholics, we are supposed to love all people. Just because some people prefer to be part of a gay relationship doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t be allowed to adopt children that have been abandoned by their biological parents. In addition, it’s really disturbing to see you guys take all of these years of gender reform, and disregard them by saying that men be masculine and teach their sons about masculinity, and women must be feminine and teach their daughters about femininity. On top of that, how can you say that a child has a closer relationship with their same sex parent than their opposite sex one? I would say I am equally close to my mom as I am my dad, if not more so! In conclusion, your “documentary” is very disgusting and regressive.

    Always wonderful to see sisters wearing habits, traditional or modified, but what's the point of wearing a veil so far back on your head that your hair - which it is meant to pretty much cover - shows? I knew a nun back in the 1970's who wore lay clothes instead of a habit, but she still wore a little veil - that she perched on top of a very large bouffant hairdo. Yes, habits matter, or the "reformed" Sisters of Mercy wouldn't have gone back to them.

    "The feeling came over me that she was the best person that I had ever seen... If I could only be with her, I could become every good thing I ever wanted to be." Wow... So powerful. He speaks of his spouse so lovingly and tenderly. This inspires me to seek after a companion who has this same effect on me, and ultimately to become (with God's help) the type of person who has this effect on my companion. I recognize that I've been quick to settle... God has greatness in store for those who desire his most virtuous gifts, including a wholesome and uplifting marriage.

    Having grown up during the 60's and 70's, I can see, looking back, that he is right. We told ourselves that with the help of birth-control, we were free to sleep with whoever we wanted, free to have as many one-night-stands, free to 'love the one you're with'. Problem was we replaced 'love', a difficult, long term, heart-filling thing, with 'sex'', and were left empty and alone. Whether you're a man or a woman, love is what we need. Someone who takes time to care, understand, commit to the best for us. Let's stop confusing mere sex for love, because it ain't.

    This man seems very confused. - religion doesn't have a monopoly on marriage - gay marriage is an expansion of marriage, not an abandonment - expanding marriage to others means more people will be in happy married relationships, not fewer - it doesn't matter how others enjoy their marriage; it doesn't undermine yours and is none of your business - denying gay people marriage won't make them straight

      1. Learning language is not indicitive of what religion I want to be a part of 2. According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church "The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims" As a muslim, I see catholics as people who worship the same god I do, albeit in a different way. In the grand scheme of things, Catholics (or christians en masse), Jews, and Muslims are all brothers in the same faith. God bless.

    This wonderful news, the deeper meaning of creation, gender, marriage etc, is been neglected by christians for who knows how long. I think this simple short video might make a lasting difference in our culture, if this understanding of biblical big picture gets spread around like it should. Christians who read their Bible daily, might not have grasped how it is coherent throughout its extremely diverse parts, that the Bible-narrative makes sense and has something to say for our lives.

      Well it is kid of obvious they are protecting their children from what they believe to be morally wrong. Believing homosexuality is morally wrong shouldn't harm gays yet if you look at the comments they are riled up about it. Plus Mormons think coffee, sex outside of marriage, smoking, drugs, drinking, and porn are morally wrong yet you don't see smokers, drinkers, college students, addicts, and porn-stars getting angry about them protecting their children from their behavior.

    Into how many eye sockets did "Apostle" Henry B. Eyring jam his thumb? He presents himself as one of the Twelve Apostles - yet he is also married with children. Catholics are amused? He presents the Mormon "A Proclamation on the Family" and yet pretends gay people have no rights to their own children or marriages? I'd like to see the Mormon Church actually stand for humanity - instead of tearing down the modicum of happiness gained recently for LGBT persons. Their behavior in this regard seems so unchristlike. Because Jesus had this to say about homosexuality: " [this page left intentionally blank] ".

    • @DJ7223

      Leviticus 18:22 and Romans 1:26-27. And where in the bible does it say the Apostles were never married? Or when they got a divorce? And last I checked, there are married Priests in the catholic church being very vocal about that particular practice of not marrying. And by the way, I thought we called them gay? They changed the name again? Can't we just stick with one name?

    • @DaveMcGrath

      Miss DJ7223: It is "Miss", right? I'm referring to the hubris of the itsy bitsy Utah Mormon sect with their outrageous history of sexual infidelity presuming present an "Apostle" to lecture the Catholic Pope and his Cardinals about said "Apostle's" marriage. It cuts a lovely picture.

    • @DJ7223

      ***** You never answered my questions. And yes, we had polygamy. We stopped that. I don't see how that has to do with anything. And all he did was talk about the blessing of his marriage, and how he believes marriage is a great blessing. And I'll give you my solemn testimony that I know he is an Apostle of God. I have read through the history, anti-mormon stuff included, and I still won't be swayed. Be it what it may. And fyi: It's Mister! Well, God bless. I'm done.

    • @DaveMcGrath
      @DaveMcGrath 9 років тому

      DJ7223 Mr. DJ7223 or whatever-your-name-is. I apologize - I'm not intending to dodge any questions. Let's take them one at a time: You said: "Leviticus 18:22 and Romans 1:26-27. And where in the bible does it say the Apostles were never married?" I reply: " I don't know nor care. That was oh-so-two-thousand-years ago and yet has nothing to do with the idea that these modern self-proclaimed Mormon "Apostles" from an upstart American non-Trinitarian religion presume to lecture Popes and Cardinals of a church the Mormons themselves called "Great and Abominable" in my lifetime (See "Mormon Doctrine - Great and Abominable Church" and still in the modern Mormon scripture say "all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: “they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof.” When Henry B. Eyring starts to lecture the Catholic Church about anything its ... specious. www.lds.org/scriptures/pgp/js-h/1.19d?lang=eng You said: "Or when they got a divorce? And last I checked, there are married Priests in the catholic church being very vocal about that particular practice of not marrying." I reply: "Oh? So why did they need an LDS "Apostle" to come? It's very sweet of the Catholic Church, but seriously? Henry B. Eyring brought nothing to the table except some preening and a sweet anecdote about his lovely wife. In short, he brought no data, no revelation and brought back no result. You said: "And by the way, I thought we called them gay? They changed the name again? Can't we just stick with one name?" I say: What do these persons call themselves? In the effort to be inclusive it's best to use terms these people also use to call themselves. It is interesting that you'd heap in a whole lot of additional things... And naturally these things can be discussed.

    • @DJ7223
      @DJ7223 9 років тому

      ***** The point of this summit I believe was to show the wonderful blessings of marriage. And I think he did that. And American upstarts, huh? We believe God needed to restore his Church, and so what better place than America, where it is totally legal to believe whatever you want. And America was built upon the standards of God in the Bible, which we believe is God's word. Also, I've heard gays refer to themselves in so many different forms, that it leaves me unsure which is right. And when did I ever indicate my gender? You saw my pic, and I'm pretty sure it's clear I'm a dude. You are just a rude, self righteous, "sad, strange little man, and you have my pity. Farewell" (Toy Story).

    He was talking about marriage in general but his message is so universal that people from all walks of life can apply it in their daily lives. There really are differences between all the different faiths involved in this conference but different faiths who value the true meaning and purpose of marriage need to gather and move forward together to fight for marriage. The faith-community in general is the only chance we have to keep marriage in its proper place in society.
